Councillors
There were 12 nominations for the election held on 1st May 2008. As this matched the number of seats all were deemed elected without the need for a poll. The town is divided into three Wards, East, West and Central Bollington, with four councillors each.

Ingersley Vale is accessible only from Bollington but most of it is actually in Rainow parish. Other premises on the east side of Bollington are also in Rainow parish.
