Committees and Work/Task Groups

At its Annual General Meeting, the Council appoints Committees with special responsibilities. The Committees have an advisory role in assessing the needs of the community and making recommendations to the Council. Budget-holding Committees have limited powers to incur expenditure subject to Methodology & Rules

Members remain in post until the next Annual General Meeting. The Town Mayor & the Deputy Mayor are ex-officio members of all Committees.

The Council and its Committees may appoint Work/Task Groups to oversee cerain functions. The Chairmen & Vice-chairmen are members of their respective Work/Task Groups.

Volunteer Members bring a wealth of knowledge & expertise to the work of the Council. You can become a Volunteer Member of a Committee or Work/Task Group whose work you have an interest in. Please contact the Town Council Office for details.
