| PARISH PLAN Background
At
the 2006 Annual Parish Meeting, held on 23rd May,
it was decided that a steering group, primarily
made up of local residents but supplemented by a
small number of parish councillors, would be
formed to develop a Parish Plan for Gawsworth. A
Parish Plan is essentially a thorough review of a
community by the people who live & work in
that community. The whole community needs to be
engaged and the content of a Parish Plan should
come solely from research and be both achievable
& realistic. In summary a Parish Plan should
represent that community's vision for the next 3
- 5 years.
It is not a parish council initiative and it is
not GPC-led. It is simply an outreach of the
parish council and the resulting Action Plan
should ultimately be presented to both the GPC
& MBC for their endorsement. Gawsworth Parish
Council does, of course, fully support this
venture.
The Gawsworth Parish Plan inaugural meeting was
held in the Church Hall on 27th June 2006 with
guest speakers Bronwen Kerrigan (Cheshire
Community Council) & Cedric Knipe (MBC) in
attendance to set the scene. At this meeting the
following village committee members were duly
elected:
